That sounds like a Lose/Lose situation.
This is no disrespect to whoever your hero may be under the large umbrella of street photographers. I respect and acknowledge Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alfred Eisenstaedt, and Garry Winogrand (Who dedicated a project to women; entitled "Women are Beautiful"), and all of their work. However, I want to push Helen Levitt (A female photographer) to the fore front and display some of my favorite pieces by her.
Street photography is more like secretly intruding in people's lives; capturing some of their most publicly private moments. Moments, such as playing with friends, walking down a street, tying your shoe laces, or even staring out of the window of your apartment are captured on film. Helen Levitt is like an O.G. of street photography and one if my favorites because she took most of her pictures right here in NYC. Instead of going in depth on her work, and rambling on about how amazing I think she is, I'll let her work speak for her.

So, I once posted some of my favorite (Yet Random) Graffiti pieces and decided to actually talk about an Icon. Keith Haring is probably mostly known for his "Crack Is Wack" Mural (Which is definitely my FAVORITE mural EVER created), which was before my time (1986) but definitely holds a special place in my heart.
Not only was he an amazing artists but he was also a social activist whose work basically spoke volumes about the conditions of New York as well as the city's culture. Keith Haring who was born May 4th 1958 but found out he had contracted AIDS in 1988 and quickly passed away soon-after in 1990.

I Plan On Re-Creating this For something. Maybe his birthday, His Death Date Or Something. He inspired me to re-create this but with portraits of myself. THIS IS GONNA BE SO DOPE!

Growing Up I Always used to sit on the train and i LOVED when the F train got to Brooklyn and i looked out to see Astroland in the distance as the train pulled into Stillwell avenue. I knew there was a world of graffiti and spray cans and illegal pictures to be explored and examined and even adored. I never really liked bombing (Its like when they might just put their name there) I wanted to see some kind of expression.
I loved the ones with the color (Street Art). The greens. pinks, purples, blues, oranges, yellows, all caught my eye and kept me staring while i was being dragged down the streets by one of my aunts, my little feet moving as fast as they possibly could trying to catch up and look at the defaced property at the same time. Coney Island was the shit.
Eventually i noticed the Murals for dead people and those always amazed me. Giant Life like pictures bigger than i was all readin "In Memory Of" With the painted face of some guy who had been murdered.
If you ask me Picasso aint got shit on Don, Fafi,Cope 2 ETC.
Here's Just A Few Things I've seen floating around That Caught My Eye and reminded me of the 90's when i was just a kid tryna get to a destination but got sidetracked by shit i considered to be art:
I Woulda FLIPPED. Do you see how 3D the stairs look even as he moves from the wall to the floor? SICK.
